Review: The Exile: An Outlander Graphic Novel

The Exile: An Outlander Graphic Novel - Diana Gabaldon, Hoang Nguyen

The art is OK, with a few scenes that were nice, like the wedding scenes and scenes in the woods were well drawn, but overall I wasn’t impressed with certain inconsistencies throughout the book, like how faces don’t always look the same. There’s a foreword and afterword that touch on these inconsistencies and, although I understand the reasons for them, I think they take away from the story more than enhance it.

A few differences from the book:

- we find out a little about Jamie’s time in France and how he came back to Scotland

- a few scenes are seen from Jamie’s POV

- the book ends right after Claire’s “witch hunt” and before Lallybrock
